Tour Overview

Art Nouveau & Riga Old Town Tour

Walk to Art Nouveau district. Riga is like a museum of architecture, covering periods from Gothic to Classicism. But the real treasure of the city is the largest and best-preserved collection of Art Nouveau buildings in the world. This fact was corroborated by UNESCO in 1997 and now the central section of Riga is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Riga is sometimes called the "capital" of Art Nouveau thanks to the heritage of 800 buildings of Art Nouveau. The exteriors of the Art Nouveau buildings are imaginatively decorative and won`t leave guests incurious or without an opinion.

A walking tour through Riga Old Town seeing remarkable sites like St. Peter's Church with its famous rooster, St. Jacobs Church, Dom Square and Dom Cathedral, home to one of the world's most valuable historic organs. The Powder Tower and city walls will make you feel the breath of the medieval. The guide will tell you about the oldest stone residential dwellings in Riga, the Three Brothers, the Great and Small Guilds, and the fortification wall of Riga with the Swedish Gate the last surviving gate in the wall. The guide will introduce you to the intriguing story of the Cat House and show you Town Hall Square with the beautiful and elegant Blackheads House. The tour will take visitors to Riga Castle founded in 1330, the Parliament, the Monument of Liberty and fantastic Riga`s Opera House.

We got bids from several companies for a 10 day private tour of the Baltics and picked Baltic Travel Services because Inge was so responsive. She planned the perfect trip with great drivers, nice cars and wonderful guides. Inge took care of all the details and we saw everything on our list. BTW, we loved the Curonian Spit in Lithuania - it was a highlight of our trip. Thanks Inge

My wife and I hired Baltic Travel Services for a 5-day private tour of Latvia and Lithuania. The whole experience was awesome, mainly due to the great tour guide we had, Ilce. Ilce has a fantastic personality and engages customers with her knowledge and personal anecdotes of the places we visited. The drivers were always very punctual to arrive at the agreed upon time and always greeted us with a smile. We were pleasantly surprised to learn so much of the Latvian history. On our last day we visited the Riga Market and were able to try some of the unique and wonderful foods the locals eat. It was just amazing.

A once in a lifetime experience and most memorable trip arranged superbly by Baltic Travel Services in early September 2026. I could not have asked for a more caring and professional company to take care of all my needs on the ground including ground transportation, entry tickets and the most amazing excursions delivered by top English-speaking guides. I am immensely grateful to Inga for such dedication and this is a trip that has left me with countless beautiful memories of Lithuania and Latvia that I will cherish. One of the reasons for my visit was to learn about my ancestors who came from this part of the world and to see how the countries have developed. I could not have done this without the fantastic assistance of Baltic Travel Services. Thank you very, very much. Denise

We did the Lapland and Baltics tour and I have to say we LOVED working with the Santa and the team! Everything was meticulously planned out perfectly with enough free time and scheduled activities. The activities were also PHENOMENAL! Especially the walking tours, which were so interesting and informative, but also fun. Santa kept in constant communication with us, constantly updating us and ensuring we were always taken care of. The transfers were also seamless. I’ve already recommended the company to multiple people so everyone can explore the beauty of the Baltics.
